Special Approval Use Procedure is found in Article 5, section 5.3. of the St. Clair Township Zoning Ordinance.

When the Zoning Administrator receives an application for a Special Approval Use, the following takes place:

A. Publication of the request must appear in a generally circulated newspaper in the Township. Notice must be sent to the owners of the property.

B. Notice must be sent to all property owners and occupants within 300 feet. Notice must be given not less than five (5) nor more than fifteen (15) days before Planning Commission consideration.

C. The Notice shall:

1. Describe the nature of the Special Land Use request;

2. Indicate the property which is the subject of the request;

3. State when and where the Special Approval Use request will be considered;

4. Indicate when and where written comments will be received concerning the request;

5. Indicate the day, date, place and time of the public hearing of the Planning Commission on the property being considered for Special Approval Use.
